I’m heading to the land of Lincoln to join my colleagues covering the DNC tomorrow. The kids also head back to school tomorrow - because of course they do!
(I’ve been prepping for both for weeks - trying to stave off a logistical or emotional breakdown, but will I still have trouble sleeping tonight despite all the prep? Of course.)
This weekend, we took the history buff middle schooler to Gettysburg for the final weekend of our summer - his wish. I love raising nerd kids!
Last weekend, it was two college visits for the oldest squeezed in between campaign coverage and convention prep.
So today, it’s time to pack and run through all the checklists. Thoughts and prayers appreciated.
To all prepping for back to school, good luck and solidarity.
A quick note if you’d like a hardcover copy of my book for yourself or a gift: I’m excited to see my book featured during the Barnes & Noble Book Haul. Through September 2, the hardcover of THE EXVANGELICALS is on sale for 50% off.
I have one going into her senior year and starting off the school year with college visits. Friday night we took senior photos. Still a week and a half until school sort of starts. August is never long enough! We got this!!
You’ve got this, super mom! 💪
