So much of my work is witnessing and documenting things that are sad, broken, ugly, and tragic.
But it’s necessary to remember that there is so much joy and beauty in the world.
This weekend my husband and I celebrated our one-year anniversary.
We were married in a small ceremony last year in Arizona, in between Thanksgiving and the first night of Hanukkah.
This weekend, we set up a Christmas tree in the living room and on the mantle, a beautiful marble menorah - which arrived in the mail a few days ago from a dear friend who grew up in the Midwest, the daughter of a Jewish-Episcopalian mixed marriage. So much of life - especially as I get into my 40s - is about sharing, reimagining, and evolving, or so I’m learning.
May we all find, and share, love and light this season.
I was thrilled and honored to attend your beautiful wedding. It was a great celebration of love, family and friends.
Beautiful photos. Wishing you and your family a beautiful holiday season.
