Thank you for supporting your NPR station
We're still here, thanks in large part to our supporters all over the country.
This is not an April Fool’s post, obviously! I just have to get that out of the way.
I’m checking in briefly from New England, where I was visiting our NPR member station New Hampshire Public Radio for a couple of days. I had the chance to spend time with NHPR staff, including my colleagues in the NHPR newsroom, and meet with listeners and supporters during a couple of great events.
During the height of the pandemic, these types of events were necessarily few and far between, so it was exciting to connect with people IRL. As I told a couple of the NHPR/NPR listeners I met, usually we are talking into a void, and it’s so affirming to get to meet some of the people who are listening and supporting what we do.
Speaking of which, the past couple of weeks of layoffs at NPR have been rough, and a critical reminder of the role that listeners play in supporting their local stations, which in turn help support NPR.
I’m incredibly grateful for that support - and to still have a job at the network I love. I’m terribly sad for my smart and talented colleagues who are leaving NPR.
But the news has gone on, as it always does, and in the midst of all of this my colleagues and I have continued doing what we do - covering the news as it happens.
Speaking of which, we often joke that the second we look away from our phones, news will break - and sure enough, as I wrapped up a public Q&A session at NHPR on Thursday evening, we got the news of former President Trump’s indictment.
It never stops, and neither does NPR. Because of you.
I’ll be back to the reproductive rights beat next week, but taking a little time this weekend to see friends and family in Boston.
(BTW It’s chilly up here!!)
And if you or someone you know wants to book me for an event - please reach out.
!
Sarah, this is a really entertaining two-minute recap of the Passover story. It has become a tradition for us to watch at our seder. Thought you and your extended family might get a kick out of it at your seder as well. Perfect for all, but especially the new tribe members! 😍

Thanks for coming to the polar vortex, AKA New Hampshire! (Believe me, I wish it was warmer, too. 🥶)
The discussion and Q&A with you, Sarah, was both enlightening and entertaining.
And it was such a pleasure meeting you and getting to know you a bit in person. Hopefully we'll have a chance to meet again down the road. In the meantime, rest assured I'll be listening! 📻 🎙 😊
