I am looking forward to reading Sarah's book. I was raised in vanilla protestant churches and converted to Catholisism when my children were young. Other than being told that I was going to hell by my Baptist friends, I had little interaction with evangelicals or pentacostals in spite of growing up in the hometown of the Blue Vatican. Our name for the international headquarters of the Assemblies of God. My only up close experience with pentacostals was attending a funeral of a co-workers husband. Turns out that God had killed the young man because all in attendance were sinners and God wanted to bring us to church. I felt like they could smell the Catholic among them and their stares were burning holes through me. Other than scaring the hell out of me, they were nicest people you would ever want to meet. I know that McCammon's book will help me to better understand my neighbors and I have pre-ordered.
Preordered, despite the fact that I'm a life-long agnostic, because the vast majority of people around me are not. And because McCammon is awesome.
